We are looking forward to Miss Johanna Sweeting joining the St. Margaret’s Family in September 2021 as a Year 1 form teacher. Miss Sweeting came into school before the summer holidays to meet everyone and we took the opportunity to quiz her to find out more about her!

I have spent the last 15 years teaching in a rural village school in Boxford, Suffolk. During my time there I have had the opportunity to work with years R-4. Having had this varied experience, it has confirmed my love for teaching in KS1, in particular Year 1.

During my time at college, I had work experience in a school and I was given a group of children to work with during my time there. Seeing them flourish and develop in that short time gave me a real buzz and I found it very rewarding. So, I decided to channel my studying along that pathway.

I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children, even when I was at primary school, I wanted to be a lollipop lady! So I could give the children a smiley start to their school day and keep them safe. This is a philosophy that I still hold dear to this day. At High School I thoroughly enjoyed our Child Development classes and decided when I left, that I would study to become a Nursery Nurse.

I have fond memories of many school subjects, the teachers who made lessons fun made the biggest impact and I thrive to be like them so I can give my pupils the enjoyable learning experience I had.

I thrive on seeing the progress children make, this gives me job satisfaction and makes me feel very proud. I am really looking forward to getting to know the children in my class and their families, and working together to get the best out of each individual child.

To relax I enjoy spending time with my family, I have 2 children Zack who is 12 and Leo who is 9. My perfect day is spending time with my partner and my 2 boys, maybe a day at the seaside or visiting a country park. I do also enjoy eating out and catching up with my friends.
