Essex University recently held a Creative Writing Competition with children’s author James

Campbell (BoyFace and The Funny Life of Pets) on the lookout to find the next generation of

talented authors and illustrators from across Essex.

 

The competition was open to Key Stage 1 and 2, and was designed to inspire children from across Essex to delve deep into their imaginations! The theme this year was ‘Out of This World’

 

Over 650 entries were received from many schools across the region. Children were asked to create their own exciting story and there were prizes for the best stories, plus additional prizes for most creative character, illustration, setting and plot.

 

We are very proud of all the children that submitted an entry and are delighted to announce that John G-L (4C) received a Highly Commended in his Year 3 & 4 age group and Cisley H (1G) received a silver award for her Early Years & Key Stage 1 age group.

 

Congratulations to both of you, and well done to everybody who took part!
