Art, Music and Drama are essential parts of life at St. Margaret's Prep.

Championed as part of the core curriculum and supported through co-curricular activities and clubs, we are proud advocates of the immense benefits of the creative arts.

Within the school day, pupils can participate in art, drama lessons, school music groups (including singing groups and choirs) and enjoy peripatetic music and LAMDA lessons.

MUSIC

Music is an integral part of our well-rounded education.

Experience the power of music education at St Margaret's. We value how music nurtures and inspires children, enhancing cognitive development and providing a creative outlet in a bustling school day.

Our school proudly offers a range of free ensembles, including the Wind Band, Drumming Club, Clarinet Choir, Cello Choir, Flute Choir, Guitar Ensemble, and String Orchestra, all held during lunchtimes. We collaborate with the sports department, enabling pupils to participate in both subjects. Every child, regardless of ability, discovers the joy of music.

Gifted pupils receive support for music scholarships at senior schools, with an average of four scholarships obtained annually. Enrich your child's journey through music with us.

DRAMA

Take centre stage at St Margaret's

Drama thrives at St. Margaret's, fostering confidence, creativity, and imagination. Pupils develop vital skills like cooperation and communication. Classes and year groups perform regularly in assemblies, inviting parents to witness their talents. Festive traditions include enchanting Nativity plays by Nursery, Reception, and Pre-prep.

Our grand Summer production showcases every child aged 3 and up. Year 6 students audition eagerly for leading roles. The performance features mesmerising dance routines, soul-stirring singing, and a live band.

Year 6 pupils have gained drama scholarships and joined the National Youth Theatre and National Youth Music Theatre, embracing performing arts beyond St. Margaret's.
