Year 3 - Nutritionist and Dentist visits

On the 3rd March Mrs Jenkins, a nutritionist, visited Year 3 to discuss Healthy Eating as part of their Science topic this term.  She discussed how the digestive system works, played a food label game with them, brought in a range of herbs and spices for the children to smell and left them some beans to grow.  All agreed it was a very interesting, and smelly, Science lesson!

In February, Year 3 were treated to a visit from Mrs McAllister, who is a dentist, as part of their Science studies on Teeth and Healthy Eating.  Mrs McAllister brought in some real teeth for the children to examine, demonstrated the correct way to brush our teeth and used a disclosing tablet on some willing volunteers to show the effect of poor dental hygiene.  All the children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and would like to thank Mrs McAllister for her help.
