Year 1 visit to Hatfield Forest

The Year 1 classes went on a fantastic School trip to Hatfield Forest on 21st September. We arrived at the forest and split into our two classes. One group did a woodland study in which we looked at all the trees and identified leaves. We measured the age of a tree and used magnifying glasses to look closely at the insects and creatures living at the base.

The other group used their own tree pictures to create sceen prints. After lunch, the groups swapped over and some of the children also had the opportunity to make woodland shelters. The staff at Hatfield said how well-behaved and polite all the children had been. It was a super day, and all the children, staff and mums had great fun.
