The Dentist goes to Transition

On Wednesday the 14th of October we were visited by Mrs McAllister. As well as being one of our parents, Mrs McAllister is a dentist who runs a practice in Halstead.

Mrs McAllister came to talk to Transition as part of our People Who Help Us topic. She showed us the clothes that she has to wear and the tools that she uses on her patients. We were allowed to try on the gloves and masks, and took turns in role playing the dentist. Some of us were the dental assistant, some the receptionists and the others the patients.

We learnt a lot of things about the dentist and looking after our teeth.
Did you know that you should clean your teeth before breakfast? Did you know that fruit is not a very healthy snack? Nor did we!
Most importantly, we learnt that going to the dentist is not scary at all!
