Solo Performance of poem at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

15 January 2010

Ben wrote a poem entitled "When I Wake Up on Christmas Morning."  He then underwent many rounds of auditions and was invited to recite it as a spot-lit solo in front of a packed audience at the TheatreTrain performance in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in the West End just before Christmas. Ben's poem:

When I Wake Up On Christmas Morning

When I wake up on Christmas morning,
I lie in bed, drowsily yawning,
Then, I remember what day it is
And leap out of bed like Billy Whizz.

I launch myself on my brother's head,
We grapple and groan, fall out of bed.
We grab out stockings and run to Mum
Clambering over Dad, it's part of the fun!

Up go the stockings with shouts of joy,
We shake them hard, out falls a toy.
Books and puzzles and games to play
This is the start of a wonderful day.
