Reception Senses Morning

04 November 2009

Reception Senses Morning.

On Wednesday 4th November, both Reception classes took part in a senses morning. In the hall, five tables and benches were set up in order to accommodate the activities and the children participating. On the tasting table, the children were invited to try sugar, salt, vinegar and orange juice, to name a few. On the touching table the children were experiencing the feel of cold jelly, dried pasta, crisps and wet leaves, which interestingly many of the children said felt like a salad! On the smelling table the children smelt coffee, banana, curry powder and lavender, all which came up with some interesting results. On the seeing table the children followed a set of cards with pattern making and the sound table enabled the children to experience bells, tambourines and castanets. We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to our parent helpers, who along with the children and staff agreed this, was an enjoyable morning.
